Katherine and Andrés leave lucrative jobs and a stable life to accomplish his dream
of sailing the world. She worries what awaits them beyond the horizon: Failure?
Pirates? Poverty? Will they make it to the South Pacific, and will they survive the
voyage? (Better yet, will their marriage?)
The epic expedition puts them face-to-face with waves that threaten to take their lives, whales that take their breath
away, and strangers who show serendipitous hospitality.
Katherine, a natural
storyteller, invites you aboard to experience firsthand an immersive, multimedia
journey that places you on deck as they cross the world’s largest ocean.
Follow along day by day as we sail to French Polynesia. For the duration of our passage, you’ll receive a free daily email that features:
“Katherine has a rare stylistic gift for bringing readers along for the ride. The Co-Captain’s Log is as immersive as jumping into the crystal blue waters of the South Pacific.”
“Land-locked readers will live vicariously as this fearless crew of two navigates mishaps and forges new connections far from home. González weaves a compelling tale of sacrifice, teamwork, grit and love on the open seas. In short, it’s a great read.”
“A powerful story about the risks and rewards of answering the call to adventure. It’s an enjoyable read of a journey few have taken.”
Katherine González is a born-and-bred Midwesterner who lived abroad for work and with Rotary International before she fell in love with a sailor who had a dream to cruise the world. Together they sailed 11,000 nautical miles across the Earth’s largest ocean on the 34-foot sailboat, Ana María. As a natural storyteller and entertaining writer, she sent a monthly Co- Captain’s Log email to her followers about the challenges and delights of exploring the world by sailboat. She and her husband have returned to the United States in search of their next adventure.
